After 9 months of editing and testing and re-editing and re-testing and re-editing, the Town and Country Backpack pattern is here! She arrived May 7, 2014, at 1.5 ounces and 8.5 inches and is cute as, well, a cute backpack. Both Laura and the pattern are doing very well after a difficult labor.
The Town & Country Backpack is a great medium sized backpack with 6 pockets. There is one horizontal zippered pocket located securely underneath the large front flap and another vertical zippered pocket on the back of the backpack. You can hide your valuables in this back pocket and keep it close to you at all times. The two pleated pockets on the lower front have a flap with a hook and loop closure. Inside you will find one patch pocket that is divided into 2 smaller pockets. The top of the backpack closes with 2 magnetic snaps along the side seams that pleat the sides together under the front flap. The large front flap is a great place to add some creativity to your backpack and personalize it to your style. The flap has a magnetic snap that holds it securely to the front of the backpack.
As some of you know from our Facebook page Mr Laura received THE LOOK after telling Laura her first cover was too black and white and needed more color so any comments about how truly wonderfully colorful this cover is will be greatly appreciated.
I just wanted to mention how nice that colorful cover looks.
Mr. Laura, you’re “da bomb dot com,” to quote my young students. I’ve always thought the backpacks and totes were cute, but the colorful cover is over the top. Not just put together a fabric and notions kit (exact blue and purple on the cover, please) and maybe I can make one. Awesome work, Laura!
I am going to go to the Urban Dictionary to look that up, but Thank You ( I think).
I like the looks of this backpack and am anxious to try it. I just finished making the Professional Tote and had a ball making it. I truly appreciate your clear instructions and the various techniques used for the pockets. I’ll try to send a picture of the finished product if my limited computer skills allow.
thanks,
Yvonne
