This is an excellent pattern. I am a purse fanatic and enjoyed making it. I found the instructions to be clear and the pictures were very helpful. I love all of the pockets and plan on using this as my travel purse.

Pam, I am so happy that you enjoyed making your purse, that makes you like it even better if you enjoyed the process!! Send pictures I would love to put them up on my “Customer Creations” page. Thanks for the kind words. Laura

  2. Diane Klehn

Love It! This was a fun pattern to make. I added feet on the bottom and a strap on the back to slide over my luggage handle while rolling through the airport. Laura’s customer service is answering emails is impeccable.

  3. Marget Jesness

I had a problem with the Fabric Preparation instruction F. Thr instructions say to cut a 28″ piece of the lining and a 10″ piece. Since the 10″ measure was easier for me to cut, I made my cut. Then, oops, uthat should have been a 12″ cut… so another 1/3 of a yard later… also. ,sewing the lining sides together was almost impossible – two layers of batting, plus two layers of interfaced lining fabric… my poor sewing machine almost said ” no way “!
But, the bag came out beautiful!

Marget, I’m so glad that you like your bag now that it is finished. I use Decor Bond on my fabric for the reason you mentioned that it is a thick seam and hard to get through. I am really sorry about the error on the lining, I was sure that I had fixed that in the last printing. It will definitely be fixed in the next printing. I will also make a comment about it on my website. Thank you for letting me know. Laura

This is a great pattern. I’ve made several for friends and family over the years. It also helped me learn a lot about bag construction and how to do lots of different kinds of pockets.

Thank you for your kind words about my pattern. I am so glad that you enjoyed making it. You can use the outside zipper pocket direction for lots of applications including adding pockets to ready-made items. I like to add zippered pockets to my sweatshirts. Enjoy carrying your new Mini Professional Tote.

  5. Shirley Williams

Love the purse, love the pattern. I didn’t understand why the pattern did not come with the Layout Diagrams like we had received in the Professional Tote.

    • lmmsew

Shirley, The layout Diagrams are on pages 2 and 3 of the pattern.

  6. Incurable Quiltaholic

I love this purse pattern. I have made 5 of these because every time I try a “store brought” purse, I end up switching back to this tote. It is just the right size, very organized for every thing I need to carry and I can choose fabrics for every season!
