Mr Laura here, well things are progressing, (I think), as we move towards Spring Quilt Market. We are preparing for something called Sample Spree. This involves making many samples of each pattern to sell to shop owners at the wholesale show.  In what is either a mark of confidence in my abilities, or true desperation, I have been promoted?? to being allowed to play with Sharp Things. I am cutting something called fusible interfacing. I can only assume this means there is a high error tolerance on the dimensions for the interfacing. I have to say this toy/tool called a “Fiskar’s Rotary Cutter and Ruler Combo” appears so far to be idiot proof, (so far, as I have a lot of cuts to go, and many opportunities to find some way to break/miss use this device).

There is something of a creative explosion in Laura’s studio. Since I am up early to do my posts before the Sweat Shop goes back in to full swing I took a picture, (she is not here to complain about me taking pictures while there is a huge mess). In that pile there are 8 backpacks in various stages of construction. Hmm, last night I thought I was cutting interfacing for backpacks but find I am actually cutting for 8 Professional Totes. In a testament to Laura’s patterns I have found these cutting directions to be fool proof (so far).
